Kart A Way Waste Management has two recycling centres in Essex, Essex Regiment Way, Chelmsford and Generals Lane, Boreham, which is just off junction 19 of the A12

At Essex Regiment Way in Chelmsford we have licensed waste transfer station, where we use a combination of mechanical and hand picking to recycle some 60% of the waste that we collect. We plan to install a new custom built recycling plant in 2008 into a large new building, which will increase our waste capacity as well as increasing the amount and types of waste that we can recycle.

We currently extract from the waste, metal, wood, hard plastics, cardboard and glass. The new waste transfer station will be able to extract plastic, paper and packaging materials and be able to handle hazardous wastes such as asbestos, waste electrical equipment (weee).

Our site at Generals Lane Boreham is conveniently located close to the A12. We have a recycling operation through which we process construction and demolition waste and produce recycled secondary aggregates for re use in construction.
